About the event
Our host will be Joel McLay, Co-Owner and EVP/Sales and Portfolio Development of Small Lot Wine & Spirits.
Joel is a native of Rochester MN and a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Journalism. His wine experience began over 30 years ago, working as Wine Steward at such iconic Minneapolis restaurants as Murray’s Steakhouse, American Cafe and Coccolezone before Sommelier was even a term.
Joel worked for a short time at Carmichael Lynch Advertising, but the wine world wanted him to return, and he’s never looked back. His professional career includes Geyser Peak and Chateau Ste Michelle wineries, Belvedere, Quality Wine & Spirits, Hey Joe Wine Co, and Johnson Brothers. Joel says, “Now nearly two years as co-owner and EVP of Small Lot Wine, my career in the industry is really not a passion or hobby, it’s just part of a great life.”
