Presenter: Dale Beers
Located in southeastern France, the Rhône Valley is named after the Rhône River, which flows more than 500 miles from the Swiss Alps to the Mediterranean Sea. The valley, which is the birthplace of Syrah, encompasses 31 appellations, including the iconic Chateauneuf-du Pape, Hermitage, Gigondas, Côtes du Rhône, and Condrieu. Rhone Valley wines are celebrated for their depth, complexity, and expressive character. Red wines from the region feature flavors of dark berries, black pepper, smoked meat, and earthy undertones, with robust structure and ripe tannins. White wines are known for aromatic intensity, rich texture, and notes of stone fruit, honeysuckle, and spice.
